The thirty-second annual Building of the Year Awards took place on the 8th of November in Prague’s Rudolfinum. This competition annually honours the most important architectural and construction projects in the Czech Republic. This year, 116 buildings from all over the Czech Republic and 4 foreign buildings entered the competition to compete for the title of the best building of the year. The main organizer of the competition is the Foundation for the Development of Architecture and Construction, together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, the Czech Chamber of Authorized Engineers and Technicians Active in Construction and the Association of Construction Entrepreneurs.
The Masaryčka building, designed by the renowned Zaha Hadid Architects studio, was among the winners. This project, located near the Masaryk railway station in Prague, is characterised by its modern design and innovative approach to urban planning. Masaryčka offers not only office space, but also design and comfort spaces that are accessible to the general public, contributing to the revitalisation of the city centre.
The jury of independent experts praised Masarycka for its unique architectural design and contribution to the locality. This project is a prime example of how modern architecture can be combined with the needs of urban life.
